Private Boarding in Champaign/Urbana

Bella, a boarder, no bigger than the remote control!

Prolonged separation can be stressful for your dogs, so leave them in a loving, relaxed environment instead of a cramped, noisy boarding kennel. And don't forget to bring their favorite bed or blanket; they'll recognize the smell and know that you're still looking out for them even when you're not there.

Kelpie the Giant Schnauzer, who spent her golden years with us after a lifetime of breeding.

Our dog doors and non-skid ramp ensure that dogs
of all sizes and abilities can go outside to our fenced yard whenever they please
.

Sprite, a Giant Schnauzer foster, in the backyard.

We encourage dogs to patrol the house and yard and play together so that energetic dogs like Sprite (a foster, now in her forever home) never feel bored or confined.

Maddie and Gracie

Experienced foster family
offering private dog boarding in our home
on a limited basis.

After caring for foster dogs for quite some time, we realized we had the experience and accommodations to offer a comfortable short-term or long-term boarding solution for dog owners traveling for work, dealing with an illness in the family, in transition between homes, serving our country (please ask about our military discount), and so on.

Weekend daycare and socialization visits can keep dogs happy and relaxed even when owners are at their busiest.

  • Our mission is to offer a more comfortable and affordable boarding option so that regular families can afford decent care for their dogs, and fewer dogs have to end up in shelters because of temporary situations.

  • We take in only one or two dogs at a time. We take the time to get to know each dog individually; those we take in receive exactly the same love and care that our own dogs and our foster dogs receive. They'll live in our home with access to our fenced yard at all times. We can accommodate all sizes and are experienced with puppies, seniors, dogs with special needs, and hospice care. Food and medication are carefully monitored.

  • Certified in Pet First Aid, we can provide excellent references from families who have boarded with us, as well as area rescue groups that we have fostered for and continue to work with. We have no small children, and no yummy cats!

Suggested donations:
One dog: $45 per weekend, $135 per week
Two dogs: $85 per weekend, $235 per week
Weekend Daycare: $20 minimum donation

Please email us to check availability
and schedule a time to bring your
dog to meet us.

Dogs invited into our home should be spayed
or neutered, trained to only go to the bathroom
outside, and up to date on flea treatment and
vaccinations including distemper, rabies, and
bordetella. With your permission, they should
enjoy socializing and playing with other dogs
in a nonaggressive manner.

We ask that all dogs arrive and depart on a leash.

"Dogs love company. They place it first
in their short list of needs."

Wilma

We've always had dogs, and we've always
hated the options available for boarding or
petsitting. No one wants to come home tired
from a trip only to find their dog stressed
and fearful.

Cholla, Gracie, & Bella

Gracie, our pit bull mix rescued through
Second Chance for Pets, enjoys acting as
a surrogate mother to younger dogs like
boarders Cholla and Bella above.
